<h2 style="text-align: center;">Raised in Queens. Fighting for Queens.</h2><h3>I’m the son of Colombian immigrants. I was born in a basement apartment and raised in NYCHA, and like too many families here, I’ve known what it’s like to face housing insecurity at a young age. I’ve watched our neighbors be surveilled by the NYPD, torn apart by ICE, and left behind during Hurricane Ida, which our government was never prepared to meet. For decades, the powerful have disinvested from our neighborhoods and treated our people as expendable. Where workers earn a living wage, pay the rent, and still have time and dignity left at the end of the day. A Queens where we invest in people, not in endless war and genocide in Gaza and abroad. As someone who grew up in Astoria the strains of asthma alley are personal. I will push the New York Power Authority to build 15 GW of renewable energy, push for the passage of the New York Heat Act to ensure we protect our pockets and our planet, and push back on rate hikes from Con Edison.

Fund free child care for children and pay child care workers what they deserve

Universal Child Care

As a survivor of domestic violence to me all safety is interconnected. Community safety means ensuring that all of us are safe from systemic and interpersonal violence.. I will fund community violence interruptors, afterschool programs for youth, and mental health response teams, and work with Mayor Mamdani to stop overpolicing and surveillance in our neighborhoods.

Safety

I believe in advancing equity for all women, queer and gender-expansive people. I will fight to expand reproductive healthcare and gender affirming care, and to protect our communities from gender-based violence, hate violence, and discrimination.&nbsp;

Gender Justice

Pass the New York Health Act to provide universal healthcare to all New Yorkers regardless of their immigration status, income, or employment.

Healthcare

As the only LGBT candidate in this race, I have fought and will fight for our queer and trans communities. I will advocate for access to and expansion of gender affirming care, to support anti-bullying efforts in schools by updating law and fully funding its implementation, and to improve employment support for our queer and trans workers.

LGBT Rights

Build social and affordable housing and protect our tenants from displacement.

Housing

Protect families from ICE by passing the New York for All Act to prohibit law enforcement from collaborating with ICE, the MELT Act to ensure immigration enforcement cannot hide behind masks, and the Access to Representation Act to ensure we can support our neighbors with legal services.

Immigration

I will stand up for all workers and their ability to organize and join a union. It is time to fight for a living wage indexed to inflation and the end of all sub minimum wages. I will fight to protect all of our excluded workers from wage theft, harassment, and abuse.

Workers' Rights

Make the rich pay their fair share by increasing the corporate tax, increasing taxes on the top earners, and passing a stock transfer tax.
